APPLICATION AND PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION

GHANAIAN APPLICANTS

Applicants are required to purchase the Online Admission E-vouchers from any branch of Access Bank, GCB Bank, Ecobank, Zenith Bank, Cal Bank, UBA, Fidelity Bank, Stanbic Bank and Post Offices in all Regional, Municipal and District Capitals at the cost of Two Hundred and Fifty Ghana Cedis (GH¢ 250.00). The E-voucher will be used by the applicant as the login details on link (https://portal.umat.edu.gh/apply/account/login).

  1. Visit This page and enter the required Serial Number and Personal Identification Number to begin the online application process.
  2. If you do not get a text message please check your email inbox.

Candidates applying for admission to MPhil and PhD programmes shall be required to submit a research proposal. MPhil applicants shall submit an outline of about 700 words while PhD applicants submit a detailed proposal of about 2000 words.

The completed application documents should be submitted by 15th May for July Admission and 30th November for January Admission. All documents should be submitted to the address below:

Any applicant who submits more than one set of forms shall be disqualified. Any form that is not fully completed at the time of submission shall not be considered.

CLOSING DATE

The closing date for submission of completed application documents is 31st May, 2023 for the July, 2023 Admission. Applications submitted after 31st May would be considered for January, 2024 Admission.

INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS

Applicants should fill in the International Postgraduate Applicants Code Request Form with a valid mobile number in the format given. Eg 00234812345678 becomes 234812345678.

  1. You will receive the Serial Number and Personal Identification Number via Text Message and Email Address to access the Online Admission System.
  2. Complete the Online Registration process with the Serial Number and Personal Identification Number sent to your Email or Mobile Number.
  3. Print the completed form and add photocopies of relevant certificates and transcripts.

All postgraduate students are advised to register ONLINE. Please take note of the following protocols for smooth registration:

 1. Documents for Registration

Students are to download the following documents from SPS website: https://sps.umat.edu.gh/ : a) Semester Registration Form b) Modules Registration Form and c) Guidelines for Postgraduate Studies 2020-2021.

2. Requirement for Registration – a) Admission Acceptance Letter b) Completed Semester and Module Registration Forms and c) Copy of Receipt of payment of school fees and modules fees.

3. Registration Procedure

Students should scan the receipt of payment (school fees/modules fees), a copy each of completed Semester and Modules Registration Forms and send to their respective departmental email address, indicate the purpose of the payment and copy: spsadmin@umat.edu.gh and spsaccount@umat.edu.gh
